Fun facts

  • cultural property
  • the second oldest cinema in Croatia
  • built in a romantic art deco style
  • built between 1918 and 1920
  • has it's birthday on Valentine's day (14th of February 1920)
  • it was named after the American inventor Thomas Alva Edison, because at the time it was a practice to name cinemas after famous scientists in order to attract more people
  • it's originally name was supposed to be Kino Atlas (the Atlas Cinema), it also had a statue of the mythological Atlas
  • it is located in the nearest vicinity of the historical complex – the unique six-pointed star
  • it worked continuously for almost 80 years (1920 - 1999)
